George Edward Avery Jr.

George Edward Avery, Jr., 81, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021. Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of the late George Edward Avery, Sr. and Katherine Thomas Avery. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Askew.
He is survived by his children, Chip Avery, Chris Avery (Angel), Amy Avery Viars (Chris), Jamie Avery (Suzanne), and Joey Avery; grandchildren, Haden Avery, Tristan Avery, Noah Viars, Casey Avery, Avery Viars, Lani Avery, Abbey Avery, Ally Viars, and Landon Avery; great-grandchildren, Owen and coming soon, Chloe; and niece, Jennifer Rose.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will follow until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date in Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to your local SPCA.
