George Bishop

George Robert Bishop, 84, of Hopewell, died Friday, August 20, 2004 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Newport News, Va. and was a resident of the Hopewell-Prince George area since 1945. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a prisoner of War. Mr. Bishop was a retired postal clerk with the U.S. Post Office, and a member of the VFW Post 637. He was predeceased by his parents, George C. and Mildred Gray Bishop. Surviving are his wife, Grace H. Bishop of Hopewell, a daughter, Florence Bishop Vernon of Prince George, a grandson, George A. Dubovsky of Hopewell, two sisters, Kathleen B. Temple of Prince George and Hilda B. Thore of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 23, 2004 at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Troy Kaichen officiating.
