George Crowder

George W. Crowder, 88, of Colonial Heights passed away Thursday October 30, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents; William Oakes & Mary King Crowder, brother; William A. Crowder, sister; Mildred C. Bowen, brother; Morriss Beckwith Crowder. Mr. Crowder was a member of Highland United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men of Highland. Mr. Crowder retired from Dupont in 1986 after 46 ½ years of employment. He leaves to honor his memory his lovely wife; Dorothy S. Crowder; daughter, Carol E. Johnson; grandson, Lee Johnson; sister, Mae Crowder Baker and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son Funeral Home Sunday November 2, 2008 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Highland United Methodist Church Monday November 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Keith Ritchie, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
