George Edward Robertson, Jr., 79 of, Dinwiddie County, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away December 21, 2006. Born in Salem, VA, he was the son of the late George Edward Robertson, Sr. and Thelma Smith Robertson. He was the retired owner of P & R Business Machines Corporation, a member of the Petersburg Civitan Club, a Life Member of Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, and served on the Board of the Southside Sheltered Workshop. He served for ten years on the Dinwiddie County Board of Supervisors, was a longtime member of Third Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, served as a volunteer at Southside Regional Medical Center, and was the Former Chief of the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Porter Robertson. He is survived by his children, Ronnie and Mildred Robertson of Chesterfield, Debbie and Richard Chappell of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Jeff Robertson and Fiancé, April Adams of Chesterfield, Shauna Doane and husband, Jonathan of Spring Grove, Christopher Chappell and wife, Aimee of Mechanicsville, and Daryl Chappell of Dinwiddie; one brother, Robert L. Robertson of Ft. Smith, AK. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 23 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 1 to 3 PM followed by a graveside funeral service at 3:15 PM in Blandford Cemetery.
