George Marshall Lewis, Jr.

George Marshall "Bud" Lewis, Jr., of Chester, is at rest, and joined his Heavenly Father, on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 7:36AM. Born on April 17, 1944, to George M. and Anne Bishop Lewis Aldridge, in Portsmouth, VA, Buddy was proudly raised by his strong, loving mother, and his wonderful grandparents, Henry Lee and Annie Vernon Bishop, on their working farm in Stony Creek, VA. Buddy graduated from Petersburg High and attended Richard Bland College of William & Mary. Beloved by many, Buddy wore many hats well: rescue squad volunteer, volunteer fireman, Man of the Year globally for the Sara Lee Corporation, regional sales director for Planters Peanuts, Playtex and Marva Maid, gardener extraordinaire, Lion's Club member, friend to many, loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband. He joins his amazing wife of 50 years, Carol Lynn Cassell Lewis, in heaven. Buddy is survived by his sons, Greg, Brian (husband, Matt), and Mark (wife, Monica); and five spectacular grandchildren, Logan, Regan, Jaya, Pearl, and Daisy. A funeral service will be held at 1:30PM, on Sunday, March 24, at Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends just prior to Buddy's service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
