George Pruitte

George William Pruitte, Sr., 62, of Spring Grove, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in John Randolph Medical Center. Mr. Pruitte was born in Hopewell and spent his entire life time in the tri-city area.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilmore and Doris Clark Pruitte, two sisters, Judy P. Ragsdale and Barbara B. Clifton. Mr. Pruitte enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge, Carpenters Local Union, and was employed in the construction industry as a superintendent with Edifice, Inc. He served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Pruitte is survived by a daughter, Reneâ?? Orr and her husband Tommy, a son,George W. Pruitte, Jr. and his wife Mary, four grandchildren, George W. Pruitte, III, Austin R. Starford, Haley N. Orr and T. J. Orr, a sister, Jerelene P. Scott and her husband Timothy, an aunt Virginia Ray, brother-in-law Benjamin Clifton and numerous other family and friends.. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Gibby Elder of Sycamore Methodist Church officiating .
