George Louis “Skeeter” Vlkojan, Jr. of Carson, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. George was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Eastwood Faircloth; and a son, Karl Edward Vlkojan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Dana Sipple Vlkojan; his father, George L. Vlkojan, Sr.; children, George “Scooter” Vlkojan, III. (Jessica), Matthew Vlkojan (Tricia), John “JC” Squires (Candice) and Krystal Squires Bitwa (Steve); grandchildren, Karlee Vlkojan, Baylee Vlkojan, Matthew Vlkojan, Austin Vlkojan, Ellie Vlkojan, Matthew Perry, Brayden Squires and Sia Bitwa; siblings, Pauline Adcock (Fred), Ginny Gunn (Beryl), Janis Minor (Bernard) and William Edward Vlkojan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. George is also survived by his mother-in-law, Katherine Canaan Yemma, who was instrumental in his spiritual journey throughout his illness. He was a cabinetmaker by trade and worked with Steve Brockwell in Carson for over 19 years. He was an avid ball player and was active in many tournaments throughout his life. George was passionate about hunting and enjoyed spending time in the woods with his sons, grandsons, and his beloved brother, Eddie. He loved to go antique hunting with his wife and discover new finds. George was especially proud of his pond that he built, alongside his father, and often described it as “almost heaven.” The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Church of the Sacred Heart Cemetery, 9300 Community Lane Petersburg, VA 23805.
