Gerald Wayne Elliott, 72 of Colonial Heights, passed away January 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Emma Sue Elliott; brother, Wallace Elliott; sister and niece, Lavon and Pamela Vaughan. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; daughters, Michelle Elliott, Catherine Elliott Stamey (Joshua Lewis Stamey); grandson Jack Bailey Stamey; sister Virginia “Jenny” Elliott Wilkinson (Spencer Wilkinson); a special nephew, Gregory Wilkinson; and many other nieces and nephews. Gerald served his country in the Vietnam War between 1965 and 1968, before returning to Virginia to marry his high school sweetheart. He retired from the City of Petersburg after more than 25 years of service. He was a master carpenter and talented self taught musician. He was loved by all for his sense of humor, gentle spirit, and love of animals. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service on Saturday January 6, from 1 to 2pm, at the Petersburg chapel of the JT Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 103 S.
