Gerald Seymour Gordon

Gerald Seymour “Jerry” Gordon, 92, a longtime resident of Hopewell, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was the longtime owner and operator of Abrams Pawn Shop & Music Store in Hopewell. A true family man, he took his religion very seriously and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jerry was an avid sports fan and was well-liked in the business community and at Brighter Living, where he resided for the last four years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth “Betty” Gordon; his parents, Louis and Katie Goldfarb Gordon; and his siblings, Annette Gordon, Sylvia Gordon, Allen Gordon, and George Gordon. He is survived by his daughter, Allison Gordon; son, Neil Gordon and wife, Diane; grandchildren, Benjamin Gordon and wife, Sarah, Nicolas Gordon, and Noah Gordon. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brith Achim Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.
