Gerald Samuel Forrest Haddon, 76, of Hopewell, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Born in Petersburg, raised in Colonial Heights, he resided in Hopewell the last 46 years. He was the son of the late Charles Forrest Haddon, Jr. and Sadie Rebecca Vest Thompson. In addition he was preceded in death by his great-aunt, Essie Mae Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Teresa Cole Haddon; son, Christopher Wayne Haddon and his wife, Regina; daughter, Heather Lynn Haddon; grandchildren, Tyler Neily Seymour, Hannah Elizabeth Seymour and significant other, Jessie McCann, Kayla Danielle Felton and husband, Ryley, and Brendan Christopher Haddon. He was an industrial painter/sandblaster by trade, but retired early due to medical issues. During his youth, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. Later in years, he would be riding his H/D motorcycles, taking his antique car to shows, and camping in the mountains. He also had a love for his many dogs, especially his black lab, Buckwheat.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
