Gerald Rayner

Gerald David Rayner, Sr., 79, of Hopewell, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January3, 2010 after a 5 year battle with cancer. Mr. Rayner served in the US Navy and was a retired millwright with Allied Chemical Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Aaron and Julie Koren Rayner. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn B. Rayner; sons, Gerald David Rayner, Jr. and wife, Louann, Jeffrey Kyle Rayner and wife, Nikki; daughters Robin R. Long and Sherry R. Crockell and husband, David; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and brothers, William A. Rayner, Gilbert B. Rayner and Raymond P. Rayner.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Hopewell, with Pastor David Voss, officiating. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Garden.
