Gerald Sr. Rhodes

Gerald Bentley Rhodes, Sr. â??Jerryâ?, 74, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, 4:00 p.m. at his home in Chester, VA. Mr. Rhodes was the son of the late Grady Breese and Mariella Nicholson Rhodes and grew up in Mecklenburg County, VA. He married Sandra Elizabeth Hart January 29, 1962 and they had one son, Gerald B. Rhodes, Jr. â??Benâ?. Jerry also served his country in the Navy for 4 years and worked for E.I. Dupont in Richmond for over 35 years, retiring in 1997. Survivors also include two brothers-in-law, Raymond E. Hart of Chester, Bobby F. Hart of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Lillian Watkins of Petersburg, VA, Lois and Husband E. Vincent Sandy, Jr. of Durham, N.C.; one brother Boyd M. and wife Judy Rhodes of Petersburg, VA; cousins, nieces and nephews.
