Geralde “Gerry” S. Specter, 66 of Prince George Co., died May 28, 2004. Gerry was the daughter of the late Harry and Rose Feldman Schneider, Richmond, VA. Survived by her husband, Roland Specter; two sons, Mark Specter; and Steven Specter and wife Laura all of Prince George Co.; two grandchildren, Jamie Specter and Kevin Specter; one brother, Edward Schneider and wife Sandy of Richmond; sister-in-law, Janice S. Kingoff and husband William. Gerry was a member of Congregation Brith Achim and a member of it’s Board of Directors. She was a past-president and life member of Brith Achim Sisterhood and past-president and life member of Hadassah. Gerry was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for over 25 years, and was one of the founders and past-chairman of the Local Relay for Life. She was a volunteer on numerous boards and charitable organizations with most of her time spent helping with Cancer education and helping victims in coping with the disease. She was a founding member and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Home Builders Association of Southside Virginia, and past Regional Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the National Home Builders Association. She was also a volunteer with Southside Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 PM Monday, May 31, 2004 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by graveside at Brith Achim Cemetery, 545 S. Crater Road. Family will receive friends at Congregation Brith Achim following the services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Wesy Chappell, 1117 Ft. Hayes Dr., Petersburg, VA 23805 or a charity of your choice.
