Geraldine Bittenbender

Geraldine Grant Bittenbender, 50 of Petersburg, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Bittenbender was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a volunteer with the â??Super Kidsâ?, a charter member of the Hopewell/Prince George Civitan Club, a member of New Jerusalem Fellowship Church and retired from the U.S. Army as a Sgt. First Class. Mrs. Bittenbender is survived by her husband, Nathan W. â??Natâ? Bittenbender of Petersburg, a son, Dana Bittenbender of Richmond, VA., a step-daughter, Shelley Prater of Ohio, her mother, Virginia Oakley of Albuquerque, NM, her father, Henry Grant of Taos, NM, three sisters, Della Pereaz, Sharon Romero and Kathy Valerio, all of Albuquerque, NM. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Rev. Jim Holcomb, former pastor and Kevin Roscher, pastor of New Jerusalem Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
