Geraldine C. Hiler, 79, of Petersburg died Tuesday, February 10, 2004. She was the daughter of the late James William Grady and Ruth Linthicum Cundiff of Chatham. Mrs. Hiler was a retired purchasing officer for the Defense Commissary Agency at Fort Lee and an active member of Second Baptist Church Petersburg. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roscoe Milton Hiler of Petersburg, two daughters Susan H. Butterworth and husband I. Mac Butterworth, Jr. of Dinwiddie and Joan H. Philipkosky and husband John D. Philipkosky of Chester; four grandchildren Jo Catherine Butterworth and Brittany McDowell Butterworth of Dinwiddie and Eric Joseph Philipkosky and Leigh Elisabeth Philipkosky of Chester; two brother, James P. Cundiff and wife Shirley of Chatham and Harold Cundiff and wife Alice of Danville, a special nephew Max S. Amos of Christiansburg and eight nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Rachel C. Amos and brother-in-law Reverend Alvin B. Amos. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 14th , 1:00 PM at Second Baptist Church, Petersburg with the Reverend Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mausoleum in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Friday, February 13th at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son.
