Geraldine R. Lambert

Geraldine â??Jerriâ? Respess Lambert, 85, of Chester (formerly of Hopewell) went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2012. Born in Pike Road, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late, James Samuel and Fedonia Cooper Respess. She was a former member of the Pike Road Church of Christ and a longtime member of the Cawson Street Church of Christ in Hopewell. Jerri retired after 38 years as a budget analyst from Bellwood Defense General Supply Center in Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Oscar Jolly (38 years) and Charles Lambert (5 years). Jerri is survived by her sisters, Thera Mae Lane of Hopewell, and Zella Joyce Davis of Chester; brother, Henry Colbert Respess and wife Elva of Chester; and countless nieces and nephews. Aunt Jerri was deeply loved by all of her family and friends. Her generosity, constant support, and examples of love will be the lessons learned by all who knew her. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Cawson Street Church of Christ, 310 North 3rd Street in Hopewell. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Road, Chester, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Gateway Homes in Chesterfield, VA.
