Gerry Wayne Hatton

July 17, 1954 — August 26, 2021

Gerry Wayne Hatton, 67, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Joseph Hatton, Sr. and June Logan Hatton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas “Joey” Joseph Hatton, Jr.; nephew, Oliver Jeremy Miles; brothers-in-law, Oliver Jacob Miles, Jr., Kenny Jeter, and Tim Campbell.
Gerry was a graduate of John Tyler Community College. He was employed with Amsted Rail/Brenco as a master machinist, retiring after 25 years. He was a longtime member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge and member of Blandford Lodge No. 3. Gerry was an avid fisherman and boater. Most of all, he was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his sister, Gale H. Miles; twin brother, Larry D. Hatton and his wife, Mary Jane; sister, Sharon H. Jeter; and sister, Tammy H. Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
