Gerry Lee Stewart, 55, of Prince George, Virginia passed away at his home on Friday, November 17, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. Gerry was born on April 2, 1962 in Richmond, Virginia to James Edward and Joyce Johnson Stewart. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Stewart and his Grandma Johnson (Anna Mae Johnson). Mr. Stewart graduated from Midlothian High School and was a life-long employee of the Ukrop's/Martin's Grocery family. He also loved spending time at the beach and mountains with his family. Mr. Stewart is survived by his loving wife, Adra "Gale" Stewart. He is also survived by his children, a daughter, Katherine "Katie" Stewart of Nags Head, North Carolina, son and step-sons, Benjamin Stewart and his wife Tiffany of Chesapeake, Virginia, Steven Spain and his wife, Jessica of South Chesterfield, Virginia and Joshua Spain and Ashby Loving of Prince George, Virginia; grandchildren, include Ethan Spain and Keelie Spain of Hopewell, Virginia and Calleigh Bush of Chesapeake, Virginia. Gerry is also survived by his mother, Joyce Johnson Stewart of Midlothian, Virginia; brother, Victor Stewart and his wife Mary of Midlothian, Virginia and his twin sister, Sherry Stewart Zeheb of Richmond, Virginia; brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law, Earl Coker and his wife Faye from Alcolu, South Carolina, Jeffrey Harris and his wife Deborah, David Ellison and his wife Virginia, Marvin Craven and his wife Mary all of North Prince George, Virginia and Pamela Connelly of Hopewell, Virginia; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm , Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Sylvia Tucker of Loving Union Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Fund at www.sarahcannonfund.org or Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, 1100 Charlotte Avenue, Suite 800, Nashville, TN 37203.
