Gertie Sipes

Gertie Mae Honaker Sipes, 91, of Hopewell died Thursday, September 21, 2006 in Riverview on the Appomattox. Mrs. Sipes was born in Honaker, Virginia and had been a resident of Hopewell since 1940. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Lucy Honaker. Mrs. Sipes is survived by her husband Charles W. Sipes of Hopewell, two sons, Robert E. Sipes and his wife Rita of Hopewell, Jerry W. Sipes and his wife Cathy of Chesterfield, 2 grandchildren, Darlene Belcher of Colonial Heights, Cynthia Moore of Roanoke, 2 great grandchildren Christina Moore and Ashlyn Belcher, and one sister, Lois Lee of Hopewell. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 7:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with the Rev. Ronald Rogers of Grace Fellowship Wesleyan and Rev. Barry Ashbrook of Montpelier Wesleyan officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 9:00 PM. Interment will be held Monday, September 25, 2006 at 10:00 AM in Appomattox Cemetery.
