Gertrude Harvell

Gertrude Carwile Harvell, 89, of Petersburg, widow of Otto Harwood Harvell, passed away Monday, April 04, 2005. Born in Prince Edward County, VA, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Mattie Cobb Carwile. She was a longtime member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and a retired office manager with Hopewell Builder Supply. Mrs. Harvell is survived by her step-daughter, Elizabeth H. Pinkleton and husband, Norman; nieces, Brenda Longest and husband, Loris, Nancy Winn and husband, Bob, and Robin Harville; her brother-in-law, Clint Harville; her grandchildren, Jamie Morrisette and Scott Howerton; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with the Rev. Robert Hauck and the Rev. C. Bailey Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
