Gertrude Tucker Hoover, 92, passed away November 20, 2005. She was the widow of Phillip Thomas Harrup and Charles Eugene Hoover. A native of Dinwiddie County, she was one of five children of the late Thomas Parham Tucker and Elizabeth Kennon Ford Tucker and was predeceased by her four siblings, Alma T. Dickerson, T. Leonard, Horton L. and Ashton F. Tucker. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Elmina H. Adams, Bernice K. Tucker and Frances H. Denny, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she was a member of the Titmus Bible Class, taught Sunday School, and was a choir member for many years. ?Gertie? loved flowers and all of God?s nature but we know she would like memorial contributions to the West End Baptist Church Building Fund. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. John Crocker officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
