Gilbert L. Bartle Iii

Gilbert Leonard Bartle, III, 70, of Chester, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012. Mr. Bartle was the son of the late Gilbert Leonard Bartle, Jr. Mr. Bartle retired after 32 years from Chesterfield Co. where he served as a police officer. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra Bartle; mother, Pearl Bartle; three children, Bobby Bartle, Michelle Gardner, and Jonathan Bartle; five grandchildren; one step grandchild; and two sisters, Catherine Watkins and Shirley Gilbert. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Braswell, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Va.
