Gilbert Lee Taylor Sr.

Gilbert Lee Taylor, Sr. , 84, of Hopewell, VA passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Nina Taylor; a brother, Tony M. Taylor; and a grandson, Michael A. Pulley. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Jones Taylor; children, Gilbert L. Taylor, Jr. (Barbara), Debra T. Fratarcangelo (Mike), Hubert E. Taylor (Mary), Michell T. Pulley (Allen); grandchildren, Joey and Emily Fratarcangelo, Andrew Taylor, and Meghan Pulley; great granddaughter, Elena R. Johnston; brothers, James F. Taylor (Bernice), Richard W. Taylor (Debbie); numerous extended family and friends. Gilbert was a Firefighter with the City of Hopewell retiring after 31 years of faithful service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W. Broadway Ave. Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
