Gladys Ashbrook

Mrs. Gladys Honaker Ashbrook, 79, of Hopewell, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Honaker, VA. and had been a resident of this area for many years. Mrs. Ashbrook attended the Church of the Nazarene and was a retired office secretary with Titmus Optical Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Lucy Honaker and her husband, Carl Edward Ashbrook, who dies March 11, 2005. Mrs. Ashrook is survived by her sons, Edward Lee Ashbrook of Hopewell and Rev. Barry Lynn Ashbrook of Montpelier, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three sisters, Gertie H. Sipes, Minnie H. Bogan and Lois H. Lee, all of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2005 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in the Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Lewis Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment will be Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM in Appomattox Cemetery.
