Gladys E. Linker, 87, of Lafayette, LA, formerly of Petersburg, VA, widow of Col. Roland Otto Linker, passed away Sunday, February 05, 2006. Born in Denver, CO, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Calvin and Ethel Sager Wolf. She was a longtime member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, Petersburg, and was active in many civic, social and political organizations. After moving to Lafayette, LA, she joined the First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the JOY Club. Mrs. Linker is survived by her daughters, Judy Grant of Lafayette, LA and Dianne Payne and husband, Richard of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Tracy Kuhnell and husband, Michael of Alexandria, LA, their children, Jennifer, Keri and Kayli, David Grant and wife, Martha of Lafayette, his daughter, Rebecca, Terry Hill and husband, Chaplain Jeffory Hill of Petersburg, Cassandra Gratton and husband, Mark of Kansas City, MO, their son, Ripken, Mary Payne of Madison, GA, her daughter, Savannah, and Susannah Oskarsson and husband, Odinn of Newport News, VA; a brother, Nevin Wolf and wife, Eleanor of San Antonio, TX; and a sister, Betty Brown of Lancaster, TX. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, February 10, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
