Gladys Lowry

Lowry, Gladys Harlow, 84, of Petersburg, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010. She was born in Bybee, VA and resided in Richmond all of her younger years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her caring and loving husband of 64 years, Norman P. â??Jackâ? Lowry; her children, Diane L. Sutton and fiancé, Lane Hiers of Hopewell, Carolyn L. Wood and husband, Larry of Clarksville; grandchildren, James B. Jarratt and fiancée, Tammy Hertle of Hopewell and Michael W. Wray and wife, Sandra of Powhatan; great-grandchildren, Destiny J. and Dylan J. Jarratt of Hopewell, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was an excellent homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a lover of ballroom dancing. Home was her refuge and family was her pride and joy. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Hopewell Health Care Center and Odyssey Hospice for their loving care. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27th at Southlawn Memorial Park.
