Gladys Wells

Gladys Hawkins Wells, 83, of Carson passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip Ashley Hawkins and Virgie Eula Morgan Hawkins; husband, Garland M. Wells and her son, Randall Wayne Wells. Gladys loved spending time with her family as well as her church family at Shiloh Baptist Church where she had been a long time member. She retired from Crater District Area Agency on Aging in 2003. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Jacquie Smith and husband, Ken; Barbara Stephenson and husband, James; granddaughter, Tracey Smith Barbie and husband, Stephen; grandson, Michael Jared Smith and her great granddaughter, Virginia Grace Barbie. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
