Glen Ray Harris

Glen Ray Harris, 80, of Chesterfield County, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. Born in Saltville, Virginia, he was the son of the late James and Rosie Harris and was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Preston Harris, Tommy Harris, and Robert Harris; and sisters, Virginia Dare Kestner, Mary Lou Pauley, and Margaret Nadine Robinson. After graduating high school, Glen worked for American Tobacco as a plant engineer, where he retired. In his free time, Glen enjoyed kayak fishing and fly fishing and making step stools for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved riding on his motorcycle, where he traveled over 800,000 miles visiting various destinations, including as far away as Alaska. Glen was a member of several different associations, including the Gold Wing Road Riders as well as the Virginia Wing'd Riders. Glen also liked to camp and travel with his wife and friends. Most of all, Glen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and friend, and he will be greatly missed. Glen is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Linda Harris; daughters, Ruth Ann Alexander (Ray) and Rennee Harris Byford (Marshall); stepson, Joe Beck (Kim); grandchildren, Jon Ryan Alexander (Jennifer), Kyle Alexander (Allison), Jason Alexander (Courtney), Jake Karlik (Bailey), Conner Karlik, Caroline Karlik, Ryan Beck, and Keegan Beck; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Jackson, Benjamin, Henry, Ada, and James Alexander. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM at J.T. Morriss & Son - Chester Chapel, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. Per the family's request, in honor of Glen, please ride your motorcycle to the memorial service.
