Glen Morris

Glen Carol Morris, 78, of Hopewell, died Sunday, February 7, 2010. He was born in Woodville, MS and was a resident of Hopewell for a number of years. Mr. Morris retired as a Major in the US Army, serving twenty years where he was awarded The Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf clusters plus many others. In 1994, Glen retired from Civil Service at Ft. Lee, VA. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Dupont Lodge # 289 AF&AM, Valley of Richmond- Scottish Rite, Antique Automobile Club of America, Crater Region Antique Auto Club and the Pierce Arrow Society. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rankin Morris; a son, Randy Morris and wife, Peggy; a daughter, Lauri Leigh Morris Gaddy; four grandchildren Austin Gaddy and wife, April, Tessa (Rikki) Gaddy Lauter and husband,Brandon, Ryan Morris and Amy Morris; two great-grandchildren Samatha Gaddy and Rory Gaddy; six brothers, Carlton, Wesley, Malcolm, Woodrow, Lynwell Morris, and Bert Arnold; three sisters Judy Bolton, Frances Norsworthy, and Joyce Arnold.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be private. Condolences may be registered with jtmorriss.com
