Gloria June McCaffrey, 91 of Enon, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
Born July 1, 1932, in Hampton, VA to the late Thornton (Tommy) Harris & Viola Krueger. She is also preceded in death by her husband Joseph H. McCaffrey, an infant daughter Robin, her stepmother Geneva Harris & stepfather Edward Krueger.
June worked as a telephone operator with C&P Telephone Company for several years. She served her community for many years as an Active Member of the Buckroe Beach Jr. Women's Club performing countless community service hours. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by her five children, Joey (Kay), Cathy (Barry), Mary Ellen
(Moe), Tim (Lisa) and Sharon; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 28 nieces and nephews, many long-time friends and her very caring caregivers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church of Hopewell at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM, and Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. James Catholic Church, Enon Volunteer Fire Department and At Home Care & Hospice, 131 Temple Lake Dr #2, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
