Gloria Morris

Gloria Waymack Morris, 77, of Chesterfield, completed her journey in this life on Saturday evening, July 28, 2012. She passed after a period of deteriorating health. Mom was a lifelong resident of Petersburg and later Chesterfield County. Mom is survived by her three sons, Bernard Lewis, of Chester; Kevin Alan of Newport News and Eric Wayne Morris of Kent, Washington and their spouses. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mom, in her lifetime, was an active member (choir and other areas) of Elm Street; Western Heights; Walnut Hill and Colonial Heights Baptist Churches. Her work career was in retail sales and switchboard/receptionist for various businesses in the Petersburg/Tri-Cities & Midlothian area. The family will receive family and friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday July 31, 2012 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at Colonial Heights Baptist Church on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Colonial Heights Baptist Church Music Program, 17201 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
