Gloria Franklin Singletary, 75, of Prince George, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012. She was born and raised in Bedford County and later relocated to Prince George County where she was a long-time resident.
Mrs. Singletary loved her family more than anything else. She enjoyed any kind of time spent with family members, including talking and laughing, eating or just sitting quietly together. She wisely knew that moments with our closest loved ones are most important and enrich our lives more than anything else. Itâ??s a lesson that those people close to her will remember, and the sound of her voice and laugh will remain in their hearts. Mrs. Singletary also gave to her community, serving as a volunteer at John Randolph Medical Center and at Riverview on the Appomattox Nursing Home in Hopewell.
Mrs. Singletary is survived by her husband, Ferney E. Singletary; her sons, Timothy E. Singletary, Kenneth W. Singletary, and Mark F. Singletary; three granddaughters; five brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude A. and Virginia Lawhorn Franklin.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
