Goldie Lesley Altizer, 88, of Colonial Heights, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 16, 2006. She was born in Jumping Branch, West Virginia. Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Yancey Hogan and Clarence Howard Hogan; husbands, Irvin Lesley and Walter Altizer; sisters, Lola Smith, Myrtle Wills, Gertrude Meadows, Edith Morris and Shirley Scott; brother, Wesley Hogan; grandson, John Lesley, Jr.; and stepson, Buzz Altizer. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Lesley Hutcheson & husband, John of Colonial Heights; sons, Willard Lesley & wife Gladys, John Lesley & wife Alma all of Hopewell, and stepdaughter, Doris Altizer; stepsons, Garland Altizer and Doc Altizer; grandchildren, Ricky Thompson, Jimmie Martin, Jay Boone, Vicky Sellman, James E. Duff, Jr., Tina Mines, Sarah Smith and Vaughn Lesley; 12 step grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; sisters, Melba Meadows and Nola Surman. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, January 18, 2006 from 7-9 at the Church of The Nazarene, 509 Smithfield Avenue, Hopewell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Church, with Pastor Lewis E. Brown presiding. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George.
