Grace D. Thornton

Grace Kathleen Driscoll Thornton, 85, of Petersburg passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Thomas D. and Blanche Gaynell Tyus Driscoll. She was preceded in death by her husband W.J. Douglas Thornton. She was retired from Dupont with over 40 years of service and loved her family very much. She is survived by a nephew, Thomas W. Baicy, III of Stony Creek; three sisters, Lucille D. Nobles of Midland, TX, Doris D. Garst of Roanoke, VA and Charlotte D. Marks of Petersburg; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 2, 2011 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Red Cross/Petersburg Chapter, 3267 S. Crater Road, Suite A, Petersburg, VA 23805-9216.
