Naomi Frye Banty, 79, of Chester, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017. She was born April 21, 1937 in Prince George County, to the late William Henry and Mary Woodly Harrison Frye. She was preceded in death by her eight loving brothers and sisters and two beloved grandchildren, Hunter Banty and Amber Singleton. Mrs. Banty had a long and successful career in service to H. Carter Myers & Associates, serving as Office Manager and Treasurer during her 37 years while at Petersburg Ford, Colonial Imports, and Colonial Honda. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, particularly enjoying her years in the Senior Adult Choir. Mrs. Banty was a proud member of Altrusa International, Inc., formerly serving in many leadership capacities. Her love of the ocean breeze in the Outer Banks spent with family and friends, leaves many fond memories to hold dear. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, William Henry Banty, Jr.; and her four children, Wayne Banty (Debbi), Susan Brooks, David Banty (Genene), and Joan Singleton (George). Her ten surviving grandchildren include, Kassie Singleton, Harrison Brooks, Blake Banty, Caleb Brooks, Brooke Banty, Taylor Banty, Emma Banty, Shane Pratt, Ashley Crist, Sam Mingloski; and two great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Singleton and Kinsley Brooks. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, 3050 W. Hundred Road, with the Reverend Andy Brockelman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
