Grant Ambler Spiers, 86, of N. Dinwiddie, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, John O’Brien Spiers and Ruth Coleman Spiers; wife, Marietta Lee Spiers; six siblings; and son-in-law, Richard Lowry. Grant was a hard worker all his life and a very dedicated family man. He is survived by two daughters, Julie Beasley and husband, David and Cheryl Lowry and fiancé, Christopher Brooks, Sr.; four grandchildren, Rachel Ladd and fiancé, John Dotts, Sr., Justin Adcock and wife, Danielle, Ashley Maitland and husband, Kyle and Aaron Beasley; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jaylin and James Pride, Ty, Braylin and Baileigh Maitland, Kaiden Adcock, Riley Aaron, and Kyleigh Beasley; sister, Mary Ann Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Crater Community Hospice for their care and support. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, December 11, 2017 at the funeral home.
