White, Gregory Edward passed away November 9, 2017. He was born on September 2, 1948 in Wilson, NC. He is predeceased by his parents, Selby and Elizabeth Boykin White. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Juliet DiGiulian White and daughter, Theresa White Mitchell, husband, Leonard and grandchildren Sebastian and Calista Mitchell. He leaves behind his brother Max FitzGerald and wife Della and sister, Brenda Jones; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Greg was a warm, loving and kind man who cared deeply about his family and friends. His sense of humor brought much joy to all of our lives. He always brought light and love to the people he met, and was one of the best of men. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, he was an avid fan of all Hokie sports, especially football. Greg served in the VA National Guard and had a very successful 35 year career with the Department of Defense. When he retired he was serving as the first civilian Director of Public Works and Logistics at Fort Lee. He was a proactive manager and a natural leader who knew how to listen to his coworkers. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
