Guy Bernard "Gb" Rose, Jr.

Guy B. “GB” Rose, Jr., 85, of Chester, VA passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Born in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late Guy B. Rose, Sr. and Mamie Hall Rose; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Rose Blaha. Mr. Rose was a United States Army veteran and was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights. GB retired from Bell Atlantic (Verizon) after 30 plus years of service. After retiring from the phone company he went to work for the State of Virginia as a Technology Troubleshooter. Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Marie Rose; a son, Guy B. Rose, III; two grandchildren, Kyle B. Rose and wife, Melissa and Kristal L. Rose and husband, Michael; three great-grandchildren, Kara, Cadence and Cameron; a cousin, Elizabeth Strother; and a nephew, John B. Blaha. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T.
