Hagan B. Cox

September 25, 1937 — September 13, 2016

Hagan B. Cox, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2016. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Cox; daughter, Mary Ann Roach (Jeff); daughter, LeeAnn Murray; son, Gaines Cox (Kristi); son, Barry Cox; and sister, Janet Teaster; fifteen precious grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Cox; and sister, Emma Lou Hawk. Hagan was a humble, gracious, and godly man who faithfully served the Lord, his family and many friends. He blessed the lives of everyone who ever knew him. His life verse was 1 Corinthians 10:31: "Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God." The family thanks Dr. Dwight Oldham for his compassionate care of the past four years. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 3801 Beulah Rd., Richmond, VA 23237. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome or donations can be made in memory of Mr. Cox to Oak Grove Baptist Church Youth Ministry. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
