Harold Elvin Hummel, 91, of 9325 Quinnford Blvd, North Chesterfield, died on Saturday, July 8, in Tyler's Retreat, Chester, VA. Born in Locust Gap, Pennsylvania on April 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Harold Paul and Jennifer Hummel. He was educated in the Mt. Carmel School System. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and participated in the invasion of Okinawa in 1945. He was married to Sylvia Fobia Hummel in 1946 and is survived by his wife; also brother, William Hummel; Camp Hill, Pa; two sons, Mr. Harold R. Hummel; Durham, NC and Mr. Barry J. Hummel; Midlothian, VA. He worked for many years at the Defense General Supply Center at Bellwood and was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, North Chesterfield, VA.
