Harold Sidney Lee, Jr., 91, of DeWitt, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Gertrude Beville and Harold Sidney Lee, Sr., wife, Inez Temple Lee, daughter, Jo Lee Collins, sisters, Ann Lee and Jackie L. Williams, brothers, John Lee (Alice) and Charles J. Lee. He is survived by a grandson, Harold “Hal” A. Good; son-in-law, David W. Collins; sisters, Laura L. Cone and Patsy Neill Dulaney; brother, Ernest Lee (Ruby); sister-in-law, Sara L. Lee; brother-in-law, Winfred Williams; aunts, Elvira B. Shaw and Frances B. Holladay; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. During World War II he volunteered for the Navy and was selected for officer training and assigned to the V-12 Unit at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The war was over before he received a commission. He remained at Chapel Hill and received a B.S. in business. After a few years in public accounting, he was employed by VEPCO (now Dominion Virginia Power). He retired after 33 years. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma and Delta Sigma Pi. He was an elder and former Sunday School teacher at Bott Memorial Presbyterian Church (his mother’s church before she married) and a charter member and Treasurer of DeWitt-Rocky Run Ruritan Club with 25 years of perfect attendance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Bott Memorial Presbyterian Church, 17113 McKenney Ave., Dewitt, VA 23840. A private interment will take place at the Lee Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
