MSG (Retired) Harold Walker, April 21, 1950 â?? November 29, 2011, a resident of Hopewell
Virginia, fought a courageous battle with cancer, and succumbed peacefully at his home. He is the son of the late Doris Jean Ward. Harold was born and raised in Forrest City, Arkansas. Upon graduation from high school, Harold enlisted in the United States Army where he served patriotically for 23 years. In 1972, he married Doris Jean Walker of Washington DC. He is predeceased by his wife who succumbed in 2007. Harold and his family settled in Prince George, Virginia in 1991. When he retired from the United States Army in 1993, he began a second career as a Postal Worker with the United States Post Office. In 2011, he retired from the United States Post Office. Harold is survived by his daughters, Tammi R. Lambert of Woodbridge, VA, and Teya J. Baldwin and husband Charlie of Yorktown, VA; son, Harold Cortez Walker Jr. (Jay) and wife Amanda of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Tylar Garner of Prince George VA, and Trey Walker of Charleston, WV; brother, Clarence Pearson of Atlanta, GA; father, Charlie Warren; and devoted mother-in-law, Ruby Nichols. Harold touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the Elder Sam Giles, Jr. officiating.
