Harold Dean Walpole, 71, of Chester died Thursday, December 27, 2007 in Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born in Hermitage, TN and had been a long time resident of the Hopewell area. Mr. Walpole was a member of the Virginia National Guard, he attended the Virginia Mechanical Institute in Richmond and graduated from John Tyler Community College as a Master Electrician, was a charter member of the Hopewell Emergency Crew, was an administrator with the National Guard of Hopewell and was a retired maintenance supervisor with Philip Morris, USA. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Cora Reese Walpole, a son Thomas Edward Walpole, two brothers, James O. Walpole and David E. Walpole. Mr. Walpole is survived by his wife, Rebecca Cox Walpole of Chester, two sisters, Frances L. Shepard and her husband George of Chester, Mary E. Young and her husband Leroy of Chesterfield, two brothers, Kenneth E. Walpole of Colonial Heights, Wayne C. Walpole and his wife Sally of Chester, an uncle, William Walpole and an aunt Marie Walpole, both of Hermitage, TN. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Rev. Wayne Rickman, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio, 44720.
