Harold E. White, 83, of Chester died January 8, 2011. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Anne, his three daughters, Carolyn Heyer (John), Sharon Cole (Wayne), Sandy Bogen (Tom) and four grandchildren, Amanda, Brett, Charles, and David.Mr. White was born January 13, 1927 in Organ Cave, West Virginia. He served in the Navy during WWII as a sonarman on a minesweeper in the Aleutian Islands. He graduated from the University of Richmond in 1950. Mr. White was a professional real estate broker in the Hopewell area for many years. He served as President of the Southside Association of Realtors and was a Member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Realtors. He was a Life Member of the Virginia Jaycees and Past President of the Hopewell chapter. An ardent Richmond Spiders fan, he also loved Bluegrass music, meeting people, and life at â??the Rivahâ?.The family will receive friends from 6:30 â?? 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at J.T. Morriss Funeral Home, Hopewell. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
