Harriett Jeannette Canter

Harriett Jeannette Thomas Canter, 83, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late, Hardy Jacob Goodale and Mildred Louise Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Raleigh Winn Thomas and Archie Mack Canter; two brothers, Edward Goodale and Hardy J. Goodale, Jr.; son, Douglas Glenn Thomas. Harriett is survived by son, Larry Winn Thomas; daughter, Joan Thomas Maslow and her husband, Irvin; son, Michael Wayne Thomas; grandchildren, Shelby Thomas Swayzee and her husband, Jason, and Jordan Wilson Thomas; great-grandchild, Autumn Rainn Swayzee; two brothers, Jimmy Goodale and William H. Goodale; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Smith’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
