Harry England "Butch" Ake, Jr.

Harry England “Butch” Drake, Jr. 78, of Gloucester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. Drake, Sr. and Eva Mae “Bug” Drake; daughter, Marlene E. Drake; and his sister, Barbara Drake Edens. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Booth Drake; brother, James W. Drake and wife, Sarah; sister, Catherine Drake Mott and husband, Joseph; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Butch was a 1958 graduate of Hopewell High School where he played tackle on the Blue Devils football team. He was an avid outdoorsman and a longtime member of Brandon Hunt Club. He retired from Honeywell after more than 30 years of service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Hopewell Chapel 820 W. Broadway Ave. Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the chapel.
