A reflection on life:
I have been blessed with an amazing family and endless friends. If there are a few words to describe my life, they are this: dedication, courage, love of family and community. Life is what you make of it, and I have lived my life full of love and with no regrets.
I am a terrible singer and despite this I am never afraid to sing…loudly. I love to laugh and play countless jokes even if sometimes it is at your expense. My favorite seasons are spring and summer because I enjoy the outside and taking care of the yard. I enjoy reading the newspaper and then telling you everything I read the next day. I especially love to give back in the community whether it is being the Church Treasurer, running the Ruritan’s concession stand at Elder Field, or helping others when they are most in need.
Instead of a resume of events, my family would like to leave you with these reflections.
Harry’s spirit will continue through the lives of the many, many, people who loved him, including most of all his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila; his brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Pat; his four daughters and their husbands/partners, Teresa (Bert), Vannessa (Jamie), Jody (Jeff), and Daniele (Michael); his grandchildren, Kyle (wife Katherine) and Jeffrey; and Jana and Isabella; his sister-in-law, Sandy and husband, Ronnie; as well as his cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
In Harry’s memory - live life. Give to others, laugh out loud, admire the sunset with a cigar, and love where you live.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, North Dinwiddie, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church followed by interment at Asbury Memorial Cemetery, McKenney, VA. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at the church in celebration of Harry’s life. Condolences may be registered at
