Harry Morton Davis, Jr., 92, of Dinwiddie died on Thursday, March 13, 2008. He was a native of Ettrick and the son of the late Harry M. Davis, Sr. and Ellie Mae Blankenship Davis. He was a life long member of Ettrick United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Colonial Heights Lions Club and a 50 year member of Powhatan Starke Lodge #124, A.F. & A.M. Mr. Davis was the retired owner of Davis Brothers where he was the third generation roofing and sheet metal contractor in Petersburg. He also was an avid horseman and member of the Virginia Draft Horse & Mule Assoc. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Grinstead Davis, four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by a daughter, Becky D. Butler of Chester; two sons, William M. Davis and wife, Ellen of Petersburg, and Harry M. Davis, III of Vermont; six grandchildren, Kim Butler, Franklin Butler and wife, Angela, Brandon Butler and wife, Audra, Stephanie Davis, Jennifer Davis and Harry M. Davis, IV; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Moody; several nieces and nephews and Frank Butler. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his primary caregivers, Phyllis Comer, Gloria Lewis, and others, Dr. Michael Cohen, Dr. Alvin Cohen, Dr. Sam Graham and Crater Community Hospice. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 17, 2008 at Blandford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 840 W.
