Harry W. Rowsey, Sr., 93 of Wilson, NC, passed away May 12, 2015 at the Parkwood Village Assisted Living Facility.
Mr. Rowsey was born October 31, 1921 in Buena Vista, VA, son of Harry and Lillian Rowsey, and had been a resident of the Richmond, VA area for most of his life. Weldon and his wife Betsy relocated to Wilson, NC in 2012. Weldon was a long time employee of Whitten Bros Lincoln/Mercury dealership in Richmond and retired in 1994. He served in the Navy during WWII as an aviation machinist.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Elizabeth Rowsey of Wilson, NC; two sons: Harry W, Rowsey, Jr of High Point, NC and Carleton F Rowsey of Wilson, NC; four grandchildren: Brian Rowsey of Charlotte, NC, Sharon Tucker of Randleman, NC, Chad Rowsey of Richmond, VA, and Michelle Owens of Wilson, NC; and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to service from 10:15 a.m. until 11a.m.
