Harvey D. Glass

Harvey Davis Glass, 84, of Hopewell passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Davidson Glass and Ruth Marie Bomar Glass; his loving wife of 48 years, Lucy B. Glass; a son, Claude Alan Glass; and two sisters. Harvey is survived by his son, Richard L. Burge; daughter, Linda B. Thompson and husband, Mike; daughter, MaryAnn Miller and husband, David; grandsons, Roy and Jamie Thompson; granddaughters, Kathy Mullins and Becky Bishop; four great grandchildren; his sister, Linda Sturt and husband, Ray; and five nephews; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Mr. Glass attended Hopewell High School, and then served three years in the U.S. Army. Harvey worked for Hercules in Hopewell retiring after 37 years of service. He was a former member of West End Presbyterian Church, and a Lifetime member of the Wise Owl Club. Harvey was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather who enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the funeral home with mausoleum entombment to follow in Bermuda Memorial Park.
